Bloggiesta Goals

Happy Bloggiesta! This week-long blogging fiesta (get it?!) encourages bloggers to improve their sites will cheering on other bloggers who are doing the same. It’s a fun way to learn new things, tackle projects you’ve been neglecting, and connect with other bloggers.

I hope to make some small changes that will improve user experience on the site and to chip away at a few projects that involve making edits and additions to three years of posts. (You can bet my good friend Dogfish Head will be making that latter part a bit more fun.) I’m also excited to connect more with the community; Bloggiesta is always a great opportunity to meet new-t0-me bloggers!

  • Add affiliate links to old reviews
  • Get caught up on cross-posting reviews to Goodreads and Edelweiss
  • Overhaul tagging system
  • Switch to a different “related posts” plugin
  • Customize related content for old posts
  • Check out the mini challenges
  • Clean up image folders
  • Participate in a Twitter chat

I’ll be posting updates to my progress throughout the week.

  • Switch to new “related posts” plugin
  • Customized related content for all reviews

  • Worked on updating genres in UBB

  • Cross-posted and added SEO info to 10 book reviews
  • Participated in Twitter chat
  • Ambitious! Overhauling my tagging system is something that needs to be done and something I am sooo dreading. Good luck.

Great goals! I also have to work on cross-posting reviews on Goodreads… I haven’t updated it in quite some time! If you want, you can read about my other goals here:

  • I have too much going on this week to participate, but I’m going to check out a couple of the challenges anyway – there are always some good tips! Good luck!

  • I basically ripped off Shannon’s list of goals because I couldn’t decide what I wanted to do. lol You have a great list! I hope you accomplish lots!

  • Good luck on your goals! I hear you on cleaning up those images…they turn into a mess so fast. Same thing with tags, mine can always use a little bit of an overhaul.

    • I don’t know how I wound up with Top Ten Tuesday images in my cover images folder, but things have to change! And that’s just on my computer… I have no idea how to even clean up my WordPress image library.

  • Good luck with your goals! It’s a good idea, I know I never feel motivated to clean up my blog, this way you have support and motivation from your fellow bloggers.

  • Great goals!! Ohhh clean up image folders… that would be a scary one for me. Hope yours isn’t too bad!

  • These are really good goals! I wasn’t planning on officially participating in Bloggiesta, but I probably ought to go back and fix up my formatting on some older reviews (I switched from a dark to a light theme recently, and I know there’s some ugliness going on…). This is great motivation to do so! 😉

    Best of luck!

  • Great goals! It looks like I’m heading into a busy week, so I’m not sure now how well I’ll do with my Bloggiesta to-do list. Keeping my fingers crossed!

  • Amy Sachs

I wasn’t going to participate this time, but seeing everyone else’s goals is inspiring me! Good luck with all of yours 🙂

  • Oh, the tagging system project… I need to add that to my list. I admire your dedication and patience in updating affiliate links and whatnot on old posts, too. You’re very smart to have good beer on hand for those projects!

    • I wasn’t smart enough, apparently; I finished the beer before I even got to the tagging and cross posting! Looks like I’ll be stuck with whiskey going forward, gosh darn 😉
